Reading Queue
The Reading Queue is your personal "up next" list — an ordered collection of books you plan to read. Unlike shelves (which are unordered groupings), the Queue has a deliberate sequence that you control.
Adding a book to the queue
Open any book's detail panel and scroll to the Reading Queue section in the left column, below the Shelves section. Click Add to Queue to place the book at the end of your queue.
The button changes to In Reading Queue once the book is added. Click it again to remove the book from the queue.
Viewing and reordering the queue
The Reading Queue appears as the first section on your Dashboard, above "Continue Reading" and "Recently Added".
Each book in the queue is shown as a card. You can reorder the queue in two ways:
- Drag and drop — click and drag any card to a new position (desktop)
- Arrow buttons — use the left/right arrows that appear below each card to move it one position at a time (works on all devices)
Removing a book
To remove a book from the queue:
- Click the In Reading Queue button in the book detail panel, or
- On the Dashboard queue section, use the arrows until the book is at a convenient position, then open the book detail and remove it from there
On mobile, long-press any book and choose Remove from Queue from the quick-action sheet.
Dashboard layout
The Reading Queue section can be hidden or repositioned within the Dashboard layout. Click the settings icon (⚙) at the top of the Dashboard to open layout settings, then toggle the Reading Queue section or drag it to a different position in the list.
Mobile
On the mobile app, the Reading Queue appears as a horizontal scroll strip at the top of the Dashboard tab. Tap See all to open the full Reading Queue screen, where you can:
- View all queued books in order
- Tap the up/down arrows to reorder
- Tap a book row to go to its detail page
- Swipe or tap the ✕ button to remove a book
To add or remove books from the queue on mobile, long-press any book cover and choose Add to Queue or Remove from Queue from the action sheet. The action sheet reflects the current queue state, so it always shows the correct option.
